SPRING QURTER AUDITIONS!

WHAT?

LFC is producing Steven Sondheim’s SWEENEY TODD and our annual series of short student-written plays, SHORT STACKS!

WHEN?

Wednesday, March 28, 7-9pm

Thursday, MArch 29, 7-9pm

Show up either day, the earlier the better!

WHERE?

Baker Center, 5th Floor!

HOW?

To audition for SWEENEY: Come with a short (1 minute), prepared monologue, short story, poem, joke, whatever you want, just so long as we can see some personality. No need to memorize! Also, come with a short (again, 1 minute) excerpt from a song. As for accompaniment, we won’t have any equipment for you, so if you’re uncomfortable singing a cappella, you’ll need to bring your own ipod and dock, laptop, cd player, or if you’re old school hipster scum, record player. Whatever you need, you need to bring for yourself, got it!?

To audition for Short Stacks: Come with a short (1 minute), prepared monologue, short story, poem, joke, whatever you want, just so long as we can see some personality. No need to memorize!

WHY?

Because it’s fun! Because you’ll make friends! Because we need you!

CONFLICTS?

If you have scheduling conflicts, contact LFC’s President, Nate Parsons, by email: np343408@ohio.edu

Anonymous asked: I couldn't make the meeting tonight because of a class :( Can I still audition/is there any information I missed?

You can absolutely audition! Just bring your lovely self on by next Wednesday or Thursday!

Last night we discussed the way our company works, the format of auditions (which is described in the post below), and all of the different opportunities available through LFC! If you have any further questions about auditioning, or you’re interested in anything other than acting, or would like more information about directing, tech, producing, or promotion you can email me - Chelsey, your treasurer, at cp280107@ohio.edu

In addition, we will be hosting a viewing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show this Friday night in preparation for the auditions - and the location will be posted later today once we’ve confirmed it!

For those of you that have class or other commitments, if you’re done by 8pm, we encourage you to join us at our weekly post-meeting social at Donkey Coffee! We’d be happy to catch you up there!

Anonymous asked: How are the auditions run?

Thanks for asking!

  • Auditions will start at 7pm on both Wednesday and Thursday night of next week. The closer you can show up to 7pm, the better!
  • LFC exec board members will be there to help you figure out where to go and what to do. You’ll be given an audition form to fill out while you wait your turn.
  • Auditions are individual - it will be you and this quarter’s directors in the room.
  • When your name is called, you’ll be shown to the audition room.
  • If you have a song and monologue prepared, you can do them in whichever order.
  • Each individual audition shouldn’t last more than five minutes.
  • Thursday night around midnight, the callback lists will be posted on this website and you’ll receive further instructions from the director of each show!

Hope that helps, and if you have any more questions, come to our meeting tonight, Tuesday September 6th at 7pm in the Baker Center Theater!
